I’ve worked with the very lovely Kitty Dawson many times, and for this shoot we decided on an Autumn theme and hoped that the weather wouldnt be too cold in early November
I had found what I thought was a good location, a long footpath with overhanging trees which I wanted to use as a background
However, despite trying a few different ideas, it just didn’t work. I had imagined patches of sunlight on the trees and the ground to add more interest and colour but it stayed cloudy all morning … so onto plan B !
As an alternative we shot closer to some of the trees , and through some foliage to add some foreground texture. Using a wide apperture gave a soft background and some pleasing images
Kitty wore my big coat to keep warm while I played around with the light and composition, but I quite liked some of the images we took while she was wearing it
The plan was to use this footpath as the backdrop
We drove to a different, and less windy, location for a few more shots using a very simple set up, a single Godox Ad200 in a 26 inch softbox
I shot at f1.8 and around 1/125 ISO 200
This was a very enjoyable and productive shoot with a very welcome coffee break half way through

Shutter speed was around 1/200, and ISO 200 to 320
